Dan Feyer won the 2012 American Crossword Puzzle Tournament in fine fashion last weekend, clawing his way back from two early mistakes to make the stage and take the crown for the third year in a row.
But he’s not just talented on the receiving end of a puzzle. He writes them as well. Last summer, several books with tight deadlines came my way, and I immediately turned to Dan for help. He’d done a great job on several word search books — test-solving, fact-checking and using his laser-like editorial eye to review things — and he came through with flying colors.
Two books he’s written himself are: “Word Search Puzzles” and, due out in November, “It’s a Wonderful Word Search,” both from Sterling. (Don Christensen photo)
